Dirk De Wachter, the well-known Belgian psychiatrist, writer and one of the most beloved voices of our time, asks the question that we rarely ask out loud – in times of progressive thinking – what helps when things are really difficult? He inspires us this evening with readings and poetry. Between and around his words, Johann Sebastian Bach answers. In his poignant Actus Tragicus and cheerful Easter cantata Christ lag in Todesbanden,  you can hear how he managed to musically unite adversity with joy. We combine these works with other, comforting compositions. For the first time, meaning platform RotterdamRijker and Laurens Vocaal are joining forces.
