Joep is one of the most streamed pianists in the world and is mentioned in the list of Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds and Max Richter.
Dutch composer and pianist Joep Beving will return to the stage in 2026 with a new album “LIMINAL” and tour, shaped by the ideas and musical explorations he has developed in recent years. His focus on themes such as change, uncertainty and renewal has led him to look for ways in which sound can create space for reflection and connection in a world that often seems to be in motion. Joep, known for his reflective and spatial piano playing, moves his latest material – to be heard on his upcoming album – with a sense of openness and curiosity. It balances structure and intuition, and often feels guided by both the human hand and something organic.
The pieces invite listeners to moments of silence, movement and contemplation, where clarity and ambiguity can coexist. This concert brings Joep’s changing musical language to an intimate live setting, offering the audience the first chance to experience the atmosphere and ideas that shape his new album.
This concert is organized by Rotown, LantarenVenster, Motel Mozaique Concerts, de Doelen and the Laurenskerk. Please note: this is a seated concert.
In het koor van de Laurenskerk bouwen we een pijporgel van de toekomst, dat digitaal te bespelen is: een ‘hyperorgel’. Zo wordt het orgel toegankelijker voor een brede groep musici.
