For the second time, the NLVegan Fair will take place in the historic Laurenskerk in Rotterdam. From 11:00 to 18:00, the doors are open to a wide audience – from seasoned vegans to curious flexitarians.

“The Dutch Association for Veganism (NVV) organizes this fair because the need for more animal-friendly and sustainable living is increasing,” says Danielle Vol-van der Holst, chairman of the NVV. “Veganism is being embraced more and more. With the NLVegan Fair we show that a 100 percent vegan event is very possible. And above all, it’s a lot of fun.”
American author Christopher Sebastian McJetters is one of the speakers at the NLVegan Fair on September 6 in Rotterdam. The NLVegan Fair is the largest vegan event in the Netherlands.Christopher Sebastian shares the stage with three well-known vegan entrepreneurs: Hille van der Kaa, Lisa Steltenpool and Esther Molenwijk.

What is the NLVegan Fair?
The NLVegan Fair offers a combination of fair, festival and lectures in one. The event will take place for the second time this year, on September 6 in the Laurenskerk in Rotterdam. The NLVegan Fair is organized by the Dutch Association for Veganism (NVV) and is open to everyone – from seasoned vegans to curious flexitarians.

Veganism, activism and an ‘evil witch’
All speakers have now been announced. One of them is the international guest Christopher Sebastian McJetters. Among other things, he is a journalist and consultant in the field of digital media. He writes about food, politics, media and pop culture. In his lecture And you’re a little dog too! Veganism and what makes a witch wicked, Christopher Sebastian dives into the story of Wicked. The novel, Broadway musical and film is about two witches, the Good Witch of the North and the False Witch of the West. Through this story, Christopher Sebastian shows how people who stand up for justice are often framed as threats.

Cowboys and stainless steel cows
Hille van der Kaa, CEO of Those Vegan Cowboys, tells us all about the future of cheese without a cow. She takes you into the world of precision fermentation, stainless steel cows and plant-based revolutions in her lecture: The Stainless Steel Revolution: Say Cheese, Not Moo.

4 Rs of Full Vegan
As a vegan dietitian, lifestyle coach and mother of two children, Lisa Steltenpool knows  better than anyone how to not only live healthily with a plant-based diet, but how to really flourish – from young to old. During her lecture you will learn how to lay a strong foundation for yourself and your family with the 4 Rs of Full Vegan. Suitable for vegans and non-vegans.

Plant-based, the new normal
Esther Molenwijk is director of The Food Revolution Foundation and host of the podcast Studio Plant-based. In the podcast, she explores: how do we make plant-based the new normal? She talks to farmers, activists, scientists and experts from the field about how we are tilting our menu. During the NLVegan Fair, the roles are reversed and Esther herself is interviewed.

From pastries to shoes
In addition, visitors to the between 11:00 and 18:00 can discover more than 70 stands with plant-based products – from cheese, pastries and chocolates to clothing, shoes and lifestyle items. There are also all kinds of activities, such as cooking demonstrations, workshops, speed dating sessions aimed at friendship Meet your vegan buddy and a creative corner for young and old.
