Daniel Cardiel is a young dulzaina player, organist, harpsichordist, conductor and musicologist from Segovia, Spain, currently based in the Netherlands.
His artistic activity combines solo, chamber music and orchestral performance, orchestral and choral conducting, and he has developed a early internationally career across Europe and South America.
As an organist and harpsichordist, he performs regularly in several countries like Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, England, Argentina and Uruguay, both as a soloist and as continuo player with
chamber ensembles, period-instrument orchestras and symphonic institutions. Earlier in his career he received First Prize at the Don Juan de Borbón Chamber Music Competition (2017). He was a finalist of the 5th National Organ Competition of Spain (2023), and in 2024 was invited to join the Excellence Class of the Haarlem Organ Academy.
He was organist of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester in 2022 and titular organist of Nationaal Jeugdorkest in 2026.
In addition to his performance activity, since 2024 he has served as Music Director and organist of Sint Laurentius Church in Alkmaar, where he leads three choirs —Canticum Novum, Laurentiuszangers and the Gregorian Schola Matthiae— and is organist of the church’s Pels organ (III/69). As a conductor, Daniel has developed broad experience leading orchestral, choral and chamber ensembles in Spain,
the Netherlands and Argentina. He was principal conductor of the Alana Orchestra in Salamanca (2018–2020), and regularly works with baroque and contemporary chamber projects.
Alongside his artistic work, he has also taught masterclasses at the University of Buenos Aires, the University of Montevideo and the Isaías Torbe Conservatorium in Argentina as part of his international
tour with Trio Piccorgan in 2025.
Daniel is currently completing a Master’s degree in Organ at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Pieter van Dijk and Matthias Havinga. He previously graduated in Organ, Harpsichord and Musicology at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castilla y León (COSCYL) in Salamanca, after completing his professional studies in dulzaina and organ at the Professional Conservatory of Segovia, and has participated in masterclasses with numerous internationally renowned organists and harpsichordists.
