Jonathan Lee is currently studying a Masters of Music (MMus) degree in Organ at Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the class of Laurens de Man and Matthias Havinga. Last year, he studied with Pieter van Dijk. Jonathan worked for four years as Organ Scholar at Trinity College Cambridge with the world-renowned choir and with conductors Stephen Layton and Steven Grahl. Jonathan appears on ‘Let all the world in every corner sing’, ‘Anthems Vol.1’ and ‘Briggs: Hail Gladdening Light’ albums on the prestigious Hyperion recording label. At Trinity, he studied with Stephen Farr, Colin Walsh, Douglas Hollick, and David Briggs, and he graduated with a Music degree (B.A.) from the University of Cambridge.

Jonathan began his organ studies in Australia with Philip Swanton and Christopher Wrench. He was Organ Scholar at Hereford Cathedral under Geraint Bowen and Peter Dyke (2019-20). He received Australian Music Foundation’s Nora Goodridge Young Artist Award in 2022, Guy Parsons Award in 2023, and AMF Award (The Goodridge Foundation) in 2024. Jonathan received 3rd prize at the Northern Ireland International Organ Competition in 2023, and he is a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists. Other upcoming engagements include lunch concerts in Mozes en Aäronkerk, Amsterdam, Grote Sint Laurenskerk, Alkmaar, and a solo recital at Galway Cathedral, Ireland.

Hyperorgel

In het koor van de Laurenskerk bouwen we een pijporgel van de toekomst, dat digitaal te bespelen is: een ‘hyperorgel’. Zo wordt het orgel toegankelijker voor een brede groep musici.
